Researchers may have found a new way to target the sources of certain brain disorders.

Deep Brain Stimulation (DBS) helped scientists pinpoint dysfunctions in the brain contributing to Parkinson’s disease, dystonia, obsessive-compulsive disorder, and Tourette’s syndrome. “Identifying these ‘malfunctioning networks’ may help us better understand the four disorders and better help patients by alleviating symptoms,” a doctor noted.
